Getting to know him and becoming more like him

Becoming a Christian requires that you know some things about Jesus Christ. You need to know who He claimed to be, eternal God in human flesh. You must know some of the things He did and taught. You need to understand that He died on the cross for your sins, and that He was raised bodily from the dead. But beyond these facts, you need to know Christ personally. That relationship begins at the moment you recognize that your sins have separated you from God and that you need a Savior. You also realize that you cannot save yourself from God's judgment through your efforts or good works. Letting go of all human merit, you call upon the Lord to be merciful to you based on the merits of the death of His Son Jesus. Your object of trust for commending yourself to God shifts from self to Christ. Then you are saved. Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved". Salvation is a general offer from God to mankind but it is your personal choice to accept it or not. If you are ready to make this decision please pray this prayer.

Sinner's Prayer:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to help myself or to work my way to heaven. At this moment I trust The Lord Jesus Christ alone as the One who bore my sins when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that for me, so that I can stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. I now transfer my trust to Him. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Father, I take you at your word. I thank you that I can face life/death now knowing that you are my Savior. Thank you for the assurance that you will walk with me through life and even unto the end. Thank you for hearing this prayer. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Congratulations. If you prayed that prayer. You have become now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, a child of God and an Ambassador of the Kingdom of God. Romans 10:9-11 "that if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved. 11 It is just as the Scripture says: "Everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame."

Galatians 2:16 "know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified”. Phil.3:9 "and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is of the Law, but that which is through faith from Christ, the righteousness of God on the basis of faith" 2Cor.5:21 "For our sake He made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."
